RESTRICTED COMMODITIES
CSXT Intermodal is proud to serve a variety of customers. We understand the complexity of your business and the need to ship different types of cargo and commodities. Please review Service Directory 1 for a full list of restricted commodities. CSXT Intermodal allows for the shipment of these restricted commodities, given the appropriate guidelines and secure shipment.
Effective immediately, CSXT Intermodal will no longer accept international shipments of wet hides that originate or are destined to the Kansas City terminal. Please note, dry (blue) hides are accepted.
PROHIBITED COMMODITIES

CONCENTRATED WEIGHTED PRODUCTS - CSXT INTERMODAL POLICY
CSXT Intermodal understands your need to ship unique commodity types. Some of these products, including the transport of concentrated weighted products are acceptable for transport with CSXT Intermodal, given the appropriate guidelines, load configuration and identification. Please see the Approval Request Form below.
In 1996, several railroads issued an embargo on shipping concentrated metal products ("CMP") (including, but not limited to all coil, plate, roll, spool or reel metal products) due to the increase in damage potential in these products. The weight and configuration of these products pose a unique problem for shipping via railroad. Therefore, in order to ship CMP the shipper, at its own expense, must adhere to strict rules for blocking and bracing, identification and safety and receive prior approval from CSXT Intermodal's Risk Management Group.

HOUSEHOLD GOODS - CSXT INTERMODAL POLICY
CSXT Intermodal understands the demands placed on shippers to transport a variety of products. Shipments of household goods is possible with CSXT Intermodal and requires certain precautions in order to comply.
Household goods are defined under the ICC Termination Act of 1995 as:
Personal effects and property used or to be used in a dwelling, when a part of the equipment or supply of such dwelling, and similar property if the transportation of such effect or property is
CSXT Intermodal does not normally arrange for the shipment of household goods or privately owned automobiles. Prior to deregulation, special licensing was required to carry household goods. Even today, the shipment of household goods is subject to higher standards and special protective services. Household goods and privately owned automobiles are accepted for shipment only under an SPQ or specially arranged Price Authority.
HOUSEHOLD GOODS - INSTRUCTIONS FOR SHIPPING
Prior to shipping Household Goods with CSXT Intermodal, customer must obtain SPQ pricing (unique to that commodity type).
If the shipment will be interchanging with another rail carrier, the interchange carrier will be notified of the shipment and can approve or reject the shipment based on its own rules, and specified loading and blocking methods.

PRIVATE VEHICLES - CSXT INTERMODAL POLICY
Many shippers are faced with transporting a variety of commodity types, CSXT Intermodal does allow for the shipment of containerized privately owned vehicles through appropriate logistics provider channels. This commodity offers unique complexities to assure it properly complies with proper blocking and bracing, security and compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
Privately Owned Automobiles are defined as

TOBACCO SHIPMENTS
Due to unique characteristics of Tobacco products, CSXT Intermodal complies with all AAR guidelines for proper loading, securing and indemnification of tobacco shipments.
Prior to shipping Tobacco products with CSXT Intermodal, customer must obtain SPQ pricing (unique to that commodity type).
